Low-Frequency Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (LF-PEMF) as an Alternative Therapy for Managing Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) Symptoms: An Observational Study

ProQuest is dedicated to providing researchers worldwide with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. By offering a wide range of assets, such as content, technology, and expert support, ProQuest helps users achieve more impactful research outcomes while improving the operational efficiency of the libraries and organizations that support them.  A study published in ProQuest talks about managing diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) using low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (lf-pemf) after unsatisfactory pharmacological treatment. The objective of this observational study was to evaluate the effectiveness of low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (LF-PEMF) in managing symptoms associated with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN). The study enrolled 70 patients both male & female in the ratio of 1:1 with DPN who had been diagnosed with diabetes for 0-5 years, had a hemoglobin AIc level between 7 and 12, and had been unsuccessfully treated with pharmacological the

Combined Management with MAVIT Device for Chronic Prostatitis and Prostatic Adenoma: Promising Clinical Efficacy and Integrated Approach

The study published by Pubmed & Research Gate aims to evaluate the efficacy of physiotherapeutic devices in the treatment of chronic prostatitis (CP).  The first study evaluated the effectiveness of the MAVIT device in the treatment of CP, particularly in patients with symptomatic prostatic adenoma.  It included 45 patients, divided into two groups based on their diagnosis, with positive changes observed in both groups after follow-up. The study suggests that the combined conservative treatment of chronic prostatitis in patients with symptomatic prostatic adenoma has a pathogenetic significance and provides adequate preparation for surgery.  Additionally, the MAVIT device can be recommended for treating chronic prostatitis, including patients with prostatic adenoma. The second study evaluated the effectiveness of the Mavit physiotherapeutic device in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the prostate, particularly in patients with co-occurring Benign Prostatic Hyperplasi

Low-Frequency “Thresholdless” Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation with Almag03 for Stroke Rehabilitation: A Promising New Approach

PubMed is a free online database of biomedical literature maintained by the US National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. It provides access to millions of research articles, journals, and other scientific resources in medicine and healthcare.  This website discusses the study on how to evaluate the effectiveness of low-frequency «thresholdless» transcranial magnetic stimulation using Almag03 in the treatment of patients in acute periods of ischemic stroke. Ischemic stroke is a leading cause of mortality and disability worldwide. Despite ongoing research in stroke rehabilitation, complete recovery is rare, and many stroke survivors require constant care. The study’s results suggest that using this innovative rehabilitation technology can speed up the recovery process, increase independence in daily life, and improve the quality of life for stroke survivors. The study included 93 patients in the acute phase of ischemic stroke, and the patients were divided i

The Safety and Efficacy of TMS as A Treatment for Depression, Anxiety, and Other Mental Health Disorders

A transcranial magnetic stimulation device (TMS) offers a non-invasive medical procedure that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific brain areas.  Further, TMS has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of depression that has not responded to traditional treatments. It is also being investigated for its potential in treating other mental health disorders such as anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and bipolar disorder.  In this blog, we will discuss the safety and efficacy of TMS as a treatment for depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. Keep reading to learn more.  Safety and Efficacy of TMS as a Treatment Safety of TMS Transcranial magnetic stimulation devices are generally considered a safe procedure, and the risk of serious side effects is low. TMS’s most common side effect is mild to moderate scalp discomfort or headache, which typically disappears shortly after the

How Does Prostate Massage Help with Prostate Problems Such as Prostatitis and BPH?

Since ancient times, prostate massage has been used to treat the symptoms of prostatitis and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The prostate gland is gently stimulated during a prostate massage, which may enhance blood flow and lessen inflammation.  This blog looks at how prostate massage might aid in treating conditions including prostatitis and BPH. After all, you can visit the prostate massage therapy clinic if you want a more effective solution. What Should You Know About Prostatitis and BPH? Men of all ages are susceptible to prostatitis, a common prostate condition. It is an inflammation of the prostate gland, and it can make urinating painful, uncomfortable, and difficult. Prostatitis can come in various forms, such as acute bacterial prostatitis, chronic bacterial prostatitis, and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome. BPH is a non-cancerous prostate gland swelling that affects men as they age. Urination may become challenging as the prostate gland grows and pr

Comparative analysis of the results of measuring intraocular pressure with a TVGD-02 Easyton tonometer and a Goldman tonometer in residents of Kazakhstan of the Mongoloid race

Image
The aim of the study  This study aims to compare the results of intraocular pressure (IOP) among Mongoloid race individuals residing in Kazakhstan using the transpalpebral Easyton tonometer TVGD-02 and the Goldman tonometer. The study seeks to explore the impact of epicanthus on TPT results. It is worth noticing that tonometers cannot be employed in cases where the cornea’s shape and smoothness have been compromised, such as in keratitis, corneal ulcers, epithelial-endothelial dystrophy, keratoconus, and post-keratoplasty conditions, among others.  Moreover, it is imperative that only licensed medical professionals operate such tonometers, as tonopen prices are a bit expensive compared to other tonometers.  Material and methods As per the study material, we examined 150 patients (150 eyes) aged 39 to 65 years in which 120 individuals, (total of 120 eyes), were subjected to a comprehensive ophthalmological examination, revealing that all of them had glaucoma.  Among the group o
