Combined Management with MAVIT Device for Chronic Prostatitis and Prostatic Adenoma: Promising Clinical Efficacy and Integrated Approach

The study published by Pubmed & Research Gate aims to evaluate the efficacy of physiotherapeutic devices in the treatment of chronic prostatitis (CP).

The first study evaluated the effectiveness of the MAVIT device in the treatment of CP, particularly in patients with symptomatic prostatic adenoma.

It included 45 patients, divided into two groups based on their diagnosis, with positive changes observed in both groups after follow-up. The study suggests that the combined conservative treatment of chronic prostatitis in patients with symptomatic prostatic adenoma has a pathogenetic significance and provides adequate preparation for surgery.

Additionally, the MAVIT device can be recommended for treating chronic prostatitis, including patients with prostatic adenoma.

The second study evaluated the effectiveness of the Mavit physiotherapeutic device in the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the prostate, particularly in patients with co-occurring Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) and CP.

The study also included 45 patients, divided into two groups: 25 patients with BPH and CP and 20 patients with CP. The treatment outcomes were followed for 12 months, and in 10 CP patients, the tissue effect of the Mavit device on the prostate blood circulation was assessed using transrectal ultrasound in the color Doppler mapping mode.

The study found that integrated treatment of CP using physiotherapeutic modalities, such as the Mavit device, has pathogenetic significance in reducing the lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to BPH and improving IPSS, QoL, urinary flow rate, and postvoid residual urine volume. The study recommends the Mavit device for the treatment of CP, including in patients with I-II stage BPH.

Overall, both studies suggest that the physiotherapeutic device MAVIT has a role in the treatment of CP, particularly in patients with BPH. The study highlights the importance of considering CP in the treatment plan for BPH patients and the potential benefits of physiotherapeutic modalities in their management. These findings may have implications for the management of CP patients and may contribute to the development of more effective treatment strategies for this condition.
